EOC Review

The following packet is made up of questions similar to what you will see on the EOC.  I have included the solutions to each with the work included in case you get stumped.

May 21st - May 25th

This week we will be rounding out Math 1 with a little bit of statistics and geometry.  Please don't forget to go through the reveiw packet and mark anything that you don't understand or remember.

 

May 14th- May 18th

We will be continuing our study of quadratic equations where we will be finding the vertex, axis of symmetry (A of S) and the Y intercept of Parabolas.

May 7th - May 11th

WWe will begin solving quadratic equations initially for the roots. before moving on to finding the vertex, A of S, & Y intercept.  There are several key formulas associated with quadratic equations that you will need to practice and learn. If you plan to retake your polynomial test, you need to retry all missed problems and sign up for RED time either on Wed or Thurs. for help with any skills you are still struggling with.  Retake will be Wed. May 16th

April 30th - May 4th

We will finish up factoring polynomials, with a test on Thursday May 3rd (Please note change from Wed. May 2nd).  Next up will be solving quadratic equations.

April 23rd - April 27th

This week we will be continuing to factor polynomials using grouping and also learn how to factor trinomials.

April 16th - April 20th

This week we will be learning how to factor monomials and polynomials.  Make sure IXL's from last week, The polynomial Quizzez and your Facing Math is complete and/or submitted.

April 9th - April 13th

We will be reviewing the monomials, polynomials and operations with each before moving on to a review of factorization before beginning factorization of polynomials.  I will add more after I determine how we stand with factorization.

  • April 12th:

    • Finish Math Mad Libs problems if not completed, please turn in at the end of class​

    • You will need to log in to Quizziz and enter the following Code 811579.  Make sure you use your real name or you will not get a grade!

    • If you have time remaining in class, make sure IXL ALG. 1 z6, z8, z9 and z10 are completed, as they are due tomorrow.  If you don't complete them in class, they will need to be finished for homework.

  • April 13th:

    • You will begin the Faceing Math Polynomials Activity.  I have provided you with a blank face/background.  It is your job to fill in the characteristics by answering the questions.  The final product should be neat and all work should be turned in with the created picture.

  • April 16th

    • Finish​ Faceing Polynomials

    • Once you are done please open this document Polynomial Unit,

      • First off...do not freak out as it, is 51 pages long​, this breaks down everything we will be doing and some of what we have done with polynomials

      • When I return we will begin to look at how to find factors of polynomials which will be needed to sovle quadratic equations.  So first we need to make sure we remember things such GCF and LCM.  

      • Complete the pages that have Algebra 9.0 at the top, pages 1 - 5.  If you do not finish in class, we will finish on Tuesday.  However, all of these pages are review of material that you should know!

      • EXTREMELY IMPORTANT CORRECTION 0n page 3 at the bottom it says GCF = 2x2x2x3x2x3x7 =1,008 where it should say the LCM instead of GCF.  Just a friendly reminder, to find the LCM of things that aren't obvious find all of the prime factors of each number, write down each of the shared factors and multiply them.  Write down all of the factors that are not shared and multiply them.  Take both answers and multiply them and you will get your LCM. Again, the above example shows how to do it on the document but calls it GCF instead of LCM.

March 19th - March 23rd

We will finish up exponential functions this week with a test on Wednesday March 21st.

March 5th - March 14th

This week we will applying our introductory work into exponential functions to Growth & Decay while modeling the Zombie Apocalypse!

  • IXL Alg.1 X2 should be completed by Tuesday March 6th (as should text problems from last week)

February 26th - March 2nd

We will continue our investigation of Exponent rules before moving on to Identifying exponential equations.

  • We will have a quiz on Exponent Rules & geometric/Arithmetic Sequences on Wed. Feb. 28th

  • We're going to begin Exponential Growth with an individual Investigation on Exponential Growth p. 290-294

February 19th - February 23rd

This week we will learn how to identify arithmetic and geometric sequences; how to find missing terms in each; and formulas for missing terms.

February 12th - February 16th​

This Week we further investigate inequalities by solving from word problems and solving systems of inequalities. Our test on Inequalities has been moved to Friday February 16th.

February 5th - February 9th​

After a quick review of inequalities, we will begin looking at systems of in inequalities and exploring what the solutions to these inequalities mean.  Our tentative test date for this topic will be Wed. February 14th.  Please keep an eye on my page for updates as the week goes on.​

January 29 - February 2

This week will finish up systems of equations by learning how to solve word problems.  Test moved to Monday 2/5, which will cover systems of equations.  IXL Alg. 1 - U9, U11 & U14 Due Friday.

January 22 - January 26

This week we will finish up our investigation of solving systems of equations using substitution and will begin learning how to solve them using elimination.  Our first test of the 3rd quarter is tentatively set for Friday Feb.5th, provided I feel comfortable with your skill level when it comes to solving system of equation word problems this coming week. Both investigations will be due this Friday, Jan. 26 as will IXL Alg.1 U8 & U10.
